Rules
1. Always stick together as a pair or team (you should be able
to talk to each other)
2. If you retire you must report to the finish
3. You must visit at least one control in each discipline during
the event
4. Obey the Highway, Country and Mountain Bike Codes (see below)
5. Obey instructions given at registration and in the briefing
6. Ensure you are wearing or carrying the appropriate equipment
7. Co-operate and be courteous to all event officials and marshals
8. Show respect for the environment, other land users and owners.
9. Stop and assist any competitor in need of medical attention and
alert a marshal
10. Wear an appropriate cycle helmet
Mountain Bike Code
- there may be other land users please take them into consideration
and be polite.
- pass walkers and horse-riders slowly and courteously; make sure
they know you are there!
- avoid riding in groups of more than four
- ride with the aim to minimise erosion, by avoiding skidding,
late braking, etc.
- ensure your bike is well maintained
- take adequate supplies of food and drink, waterproofs, spare
clothes, tools and spares
- be kind to plants and creatures
- take litter away with you
- try to avoid spreading areas of erosion. Consider dismounting
if necessary
