"Thank you again for an absolutely amazing day!!!! We enjoyed (almost) every second of it and are already trying to find another "beginner" Adventure Race....We will definitely see you next year at both the Rat Race and the Wan Dae!!"

"Thanks for organising a great race. "

"Thanks for organising the weekend - fantastic day out in a fantastic location !"

"I thoroughly enjoyed it"

"Just thought I’d drop you an email to say how much I enjoyed the Pentlands race on Saturday. It was my first attempt at this type of event but I’m now looking forward to the next two."

"Thanks for your efforts. "

"Thanks for a great race, I clearly need some orienteering and observation practice!"

"It was a nice varied course with some fun challenges."

"Thanks for a brilliant race. looking forward to the next races though need to work on my downhill mountain biking skills, was great to be off the roads, it was a really exciting course. "

"Hopefully you will have recovered from Saturday’s adventure race, which seems to have been enjoyed by those people at my work who did the 5 hour event. "

"Just quick note to say cheers and good effort for the event.  Had a great time and learned a huge amount. "

"Thank you, thank you."

"We had a great day out, if not a little disappointed about some major tactical and navigational blunders. We were fit, excited and badly prepared."

"Great day out, thanks."

"It was great to see so many first time ARers having a go. You engendeared a good spirit of fun. Not too formal."

"Great race, thanks for bringing this format to Scotland."

"Thanks very much to you and yer team for a great day on Sat. Roll on the next Wan Dae."

"Just wanted to drop you and the team a line to say thanks for Saturday - it was a great race and really well organised / marshalled etc so a huge thank you to everyone involved (admittedly I was nearly crying half way through the kayak and that was only in the hour race but that's another story!)."

"Thanks for organising a brilliant day out in the Pentlands on Saturday. I haven't ever laughed so much in a kayak as I did while we were battling white water, side winds, and trying to surf a Sevvy.....we also got some funny looks from a bunch of soldiers wearing full camouflage gear and lots of grass sticking out of their heads, despite the fact they looked a lot sillier.

But seriously, the course was really interesting, and I still managed to see bits of the Pentlands I didn't know. I loved the little orienteering course at Bonally (but not running it in bike cleats!), and the fact that we were intermingled with 4-year olds with little maps in very big map cases."

"I had an awesome time.  All worries about fitness and letting down my team went out the window as soon as I arrived.  I've learned a great deal and can't wait till July for the Rat Race.  I'd only met my teammates the week before and they were great company.  I'm writing a race report for Sleepmonsters and you can get the full "Craig eye view" then.  Proved some things to myself, learned some things about myself.  Can't ask for more than that."

"That kayaking leg was hilariously futile.  The biggest modifier in Scottish AR is definitely the weather!"

"I aim to train like a madman for the next ones.  Not to get a better score or anything like that, but simply to experience more of the adventure and more of the activities that occur at CPs."

"Shame you missed me with my shiny special 'racing tassles' that had been attached to my handlebars by my flatmate for my birthday.  They thought I'd go mental and take the axe to them.  Instead I was super psyched for keeping them on for the Wan Dae; a sort of Pee Wee's Big Adventure Race if you will."

"Ace I say."

"Most enjoyable day I've had in the field ever."

"Well done, I would never have guessed it was your first race. You impressed me by staying so calm!"

"Thanks for a great event on Saturday. I had a great time even though we made a spectacularly stupid route decision on the mountain bike section. "

"You can be assured of more entries from my teams at the next 2 events"

"Thanks for a great event. Pity it was so windy which made the paddling a bit tricky for us novices, who cannot manage to get the kayak to go in a straight line at the best of times, but we had great fun on the bikes, running and having a go at the activities."

"Just wanted to say a big thank you from the Border Reivers team (the brothers Short) for the race – it was our first time at adventure racing over an 8 hour period and we had a real blast.  We normally punish ourselves in triathlon so it was good to have a wee break from that – the course was really well set out and had us scratching our heads more than once.  Hope they will be repeated next year – we will certainly spread the word within the triathlon world and try and get more converts! Thanks again to all those involved in putting these events together."

"Despite being very new to Adventure Racing and not really knowing what to expect, I had a thoroughly good time at both events. The courses were well designed to be challenging but fun (even though we couldn’t locate a few check points), and the marshals were all exceptionally good humoured despite the less than ideal weather at times. It’s great to have 3 such great events within easy access of central Scotland."

"John - many thanks for a really great 2 Saturdays, from myself and my team mates (Tomb Raiders, and then Tomb Raiders minus Lara).  We were at Carron Valley for our first ever adventure race, followed by Drumlanrig.Yourself and all of the marshals were so encouraging! Thanks again - can't wait to come along next year!"

"Just wanted to say thanks for a great day out at Drumlanrig on Saturday and indeed for your efforts in creating the Series."
